11+ preparation
Our mock exams accustom students to the exam format, structure and question timings — diminishing surprise and anxiety on the day of the real entrance test.
The Gloucestershire 11+ is changing. From summer 2027 the seven G7 grammar schools move to the new FSCE exam, sat in the summer term of Year 5 for September 2028 entry. Our tuition and mocks are already aligned to the new format, and we continue to prepare pupils for the final GL Assessment sittings up to 2026/27.
A familiar format.
A more confident exam day.
Give your child space to practise, learn from feedback and approach the 11+ knowing what to expect.
Exam-standard papers
We create, write and provide exam-standard material. A rigorous process ensures realistic timing, appropriate difficulty and exam-standard questions.
Realistic exam conditions
Students experience the format and structure of the real test — the new FSCE multi-paper layout (Adventure, Compass, Beacon and Discovery) for 2027 onwards, plus GL Assessment multiple-choice papers for the final cohorts, with timing allocated to each question.
3–4 mocks before the test
In addition to thorough 11+ instruction, we run 3–4 mock exams to build confidence and familiarity well before the entrance examination — which from 2027 moves to the summer term of Year 5.
What is covered
From summer 2027 the Gloucestershire 11+ is set by Future Stories Community Enterprise (FSCE) and targets the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum — problem-solving, logic and curiosity in English and Maths, with a creative writing and response section. Pupils sitting the final GL Assessment papers continue to be prepared in the GL format.
- English
- Maths
- Cross-curricular Logic
- Problem Solving
- Creative Writing
Mocks are held under timed conditions and mirror the real paper structure — the FSCE Adventure, Compass, Beacon and Discovery papers, or GL multiple-choice papers for the final cohorts. Feedback helps students target their final weeks of practice.
